West Mersea Yacht Club – Coronavirus statement 04/07/2020

I am delighted to be able to say that the Club will reopen to Members on Saturday 4th July 2020, the first day that we are allowed by law to be open.

There will inevitably be some changes to the Club and in particular to the way that the bar and restaurant service will run. John Munns, Rear Commodore House, Linda Kent from the House Committee, and the whole House team, have put an enormous amount of effort into preparing the Club  and setting things up to comply with Government guidelines and keep members safe.   This is an unprecedented situation, there is no rule book or past experience to guide us and we are all ‘flying by the seat of our pants’.

I know that all Members will join with me in offering John, Linda and their House team our grateful thanks for all their work on our behalf.

Members are recommended to view the dedicated Club Reopening pages on the website at http://www.wmyc.org.uk/ashore/club-re-opening-info-page/

With very best wishes

Tim Wood
