Welcome to the West Mersea Yacht Club, established 1899 and one of the premier Clubs on the East Coast.

We run a full racing and cruising programme throughout the season, and Members are conveyed to their boats on local moorings by two Club launches, with the launch service being available seven days a week in the summer.

Our club launch service was reinstated on 29th March, the first day allowed by the Government for unrestricted use of boats. However at the moment, and until Government social distancing requirements are lifted, the carrying capacity of the launches is substantially reduced, so in order to provide the least restricted service for our Members, regrettably the service is currently available to Members and their crews only, and therefore visiting yachtspeople cannot be carried.

In normal times our bar and restaurant service is open to members and visiting yachtspeople seven days a week, with the Club offering a full lunch menu and a popular selection of roasts on Sundays. Evening dining, with a full menu plus “Chefs  specials”changing regularly, is available on Wednesday , Friday and Saturday evenings.
In view of progress along the stages of the Government’s ‘Roadmap out of Lockdown’ I am very pleased to be able to say that as of Monday 17th May, the Club will resume a full dining and bar service with ‘indoor dining’ available for bookings of up to 6 people, or more if they are from two households only. We will still be restricted by law to providing ‘seated table service only’ so regrettably at the moment there will be no service at the bar; we hope that this will change when the next stage of the ‘Roadmap’ is reached. Table Bookings are now being taken. There are not many Yacht Clubs on the East Coast that face west and so have a full view of the setting sun, and a sundowner on our Club lawn cannot be beaten in good weather!

I look forward to seeing fellow Members on the Club lawn, or in the launch, on the way to their

Best wishes
